Check out that powerful grip!
7 weeks old (with a little pot-belly?)She also went to the pediatrician yesterday to get her two month shots. The pediatrician was really pleased with Aryana and how fast she is catching up to normal term babies. He said, "If it wasn't for the umbilical hernia, she would be perfect." She took the three shots like a pro. She cried for about 5 seconds for each one, and then she was fine. The nurse and I were quite impressed. I guess the NICU really toughen her up, and she can take anything.
Aryana can left her head for a little while, and then it flops back down. When Lee and I carry her in front, she can keep her head lifted for a little while before she needs support. She spits up like a professional, which sometimes leaves Lee and I changing her clothes a couple times a day or her sheets late at night. (Burp cloths, lap pads, and bibs are wonderful creations.) She is more awake during the day, so Lee and I have the wonderful job of entertaining her when needed.
That is either a very big safety pin or a very small baby
Playing in the nursery with mom
That blue thing by her hand is a toy octopus we named "Ocho" (She seems to enjoy trying to eat him)No socially smiling just yet, but the pediatrician said that she should be able to do it within the next week. Aryana is beginning to communicate more with different sounds then crying all the time. She really enjoys being outside. Sometimes when she is fussy, we will take her for a walk around the neighborhood, which really calms her down.
